URGENT SAFETY NOTICE

Elevators installed with more than 4 inches of “gap space” between the hoistway doors and the elevator car doors can pose a serious safety risk. Children may become entrapped in the space and could be seriously injured or killed. This risk can be reduced with the proper installation of space guards at each floor.

Signs That You’ll Need an Elevator Repair

These are some indicators that you will need to get a home elevator service or repair done.

If you have an elevator, you likely depend on it to work regularly in order to get you where you need to be. Elevators will likely have no problem working for you early into their lifespans, but time starts to wear them down, and eventually, may need repairs to keep them in working order for as long as possible. The good news is that elevators will often let you know when they are in need of repair. You just have to watch and listen for the signs. These are some indicators that you will need to get a home elevator service or repair done.

You’re Hearing Odd Sounds

Your home elevator should function smoothly and seamlessly, and this includes being fairly silent during operation. If you hear noises coming out of your elevator, especially any new sounds, then it’s time that an elevator service, and possibly repair is needed.

Keep an ear out for squeaking, banging, and clanking sounds. If you notice these sounds, itwill only get worse over time, so it’s best to address them early while they’re still minor issues.

Your Elevator Moves Strangely

Not only should your elevator sound fine, but it also needs to move correctly. In other words, there shouldn’t be any hesitations or odd motions being made by your home elevator.

Have you noticed your elevator making any rough, jerking motions while in operation? If so, it’s possible that the pieces that move your cab could be damaged, and you have to get them repaired. Without a swift elevator repair, you have a higher chance of a shut down occurring.

Longer Waiting Times

You want your elevator to be quick in order to make it more convenient for your needs. If you find that yours is taking longer to get from one floor to the next, you should find out if an elevator repair is required by having a full service and maintenance performed.

Slow elevators are indicative of various potential issues, such as pulleys and motors that might not be in the best condition. However, trying to diagnose the issue yourself can be tricky, so it’s best to get a professional to perform a diagnosis for you.
