COVID-19 Notice

Preferred Elevator would like to assure our customers that we are taking all necessary steps to do our part in flattening the curve of COVID-19. We have developed a “No Family Contact” process for service, repairs and installations. Our Mechanic, who will be wearing a mask and gloves, will call you when we are at your front door and will discuss the issues or concerns you have with your unit. Our customer can then unlock the door, but there is no need to further greet the Mechanic or be present for the service, repair or installation. Please feel free to move to another part of the home while we are working. Final payment can be left for technician or can be done over the phone with our office.
We greatly appreciate your business during this time.

Sincerely,
Ken Gough

URGENT SAFETY NOTICE

Elevators installed with more than 4 inches of “gap space” between the hoistway doors and the elevator car doors can pose a serious safety risk. Children may become entrapped in the space and could be seriously injured or killed. This risk can be reduced with the proper installation of space guards at each floor.

Signs That a Residential Elevator is Right for You

A residential elevator can make the living experience more comfortable not just for you, but for your loved ones and potential home buyers.

A residential elevator enhances a home in so many ways. It can make the living experience more comfortable not just for you, but for your loved ones, any house guest and even potential home buyers. If you’re on the fence whether you need a residential elevator, then we’re here to provide some food for thought. Here are some signs that a residential elevator is right for you.

If You’re Housing Elderly People

It’s becoming very common for parents to move in with their children as they age, especially if they need assistance carrying out daily tasks. A home elevator can make your parents feel more independent as they age in your home. Stairs can sometimes make it more challenging to access each floor of a house and a home elevator is an optimal solution to combat that problem.

If You Have the Future in Mind

Today you may find that you don’t have any trouble moving effortlessly around your home. However, as you become older, you may find that you want a safety net in place to ensure that you won’t have any problems in the future. A residential elevator is just that! Residential elevator installation ensures that your home can age with you. If one of your top priorities is to age in place, then this advancement can help you enjoy your home for years to come.

If Anyone in Your Home Has Limited Mobility

A common misconception is that home modification devices and initiatives are only beneficial for the elderly. However, anyone, regardless of age, can benefit from these kinds of efforts. Injuries can happen to anyone. Limited mobility affects people in all stages of life. Also, climbing the steps can be a difficult task for anyone. Residential elevators can benefit anyone!

If You’re Thinking About Selling Your Home

When selling your home, you should always know how to attract your target market. If you’re living in an area that attracts retirees, you may want to consider modifying your home to appeal to them. What often happens with a lot of retirees is that they like to downsize and move to a place where moving around is comfortable and easy. Think about well-lit hallways and entryways, grab bars, and of course, a residential elevator.
