COVID-19 Notice

Preferred Elevator would like to assure our customers that we are taking all necessary steps to do our part in flattening the curve of COVID-19. We have developed a “No Family Contact” process for service, repairs and installations. Our Mechanic, who will be wearing a mask and gloves, will call you when we are at your front door and will discuss the issues or concerns you have with your unit. Our customer can then unlock the door, but there is no need to further greet the Mechanic or be present for the service, repair or installation. Please feel free to move to another part of the home while we are working. Final payment can be left for technician or can be done over the phone with our office.
We greatly appreciate your business during this time.

Sincerely,
Ken Gough

URGENT SAFETY NOTICE

Elevators installed with more than 4 inches of “gap space” between the hoistway doors and the elevator car doors can pose a serious safety risk. Children may become entrapped in the space and could be seriously injured or killed. This risk can be reduced with the proper installation of space guards at each floor.

How to Find the Best Elevator Company

How to Find the Best Elevator Company

Keep reading to learn what to look for in your elevator company.

Are you thinking about installing a new elevator in your home? This can be a wise decision, as elevators give users more accessibility to the different levels of their houses, thereby enhancing how much independence they have. If you’re going to get an elevator installation, however, you’ll need to bring in help from a professional elevator company, but how do you decide on the right company for your needs? Keep reading to learn what to look for in your elevator company.

Look for Insurance and Licensing

Any elevator company you select should have insurance and licensing backing up the quality of work they provide. Insurance will keep you protected when something goes wrong during the installation process. Licensing shows that the company you’ve chosen truly has the skills to perform your project. Just be sure that the licensing and insurance they have is current.

Pick an Elevator Company That’s Responsive

When you need work done on your elevator, you want your elevator to be given swift and professional-grade service. Your elevator company should be quick to respond to any needs that you have. This shows that they care about their customers, and it also means your elevator will be addressed before small issues have the chance to escalate.

See If Your Elevator Company Has Good Reviews

If your elevator company has done good work in the past, then past customers should be able to attest to it. That’s why you should see if you can find any reviews from previous customers. They’ll be one of the best points of contact you can find when looking for honest feedback on the quality of service a company provides. A company with good reviews is one that you should trust.
