COVID-19 Notice

Preferred Elevator would like to assure our customers that we are taking all necessary steps to do our part in flattening the curve of COVID-19. We have developed a “No Family Contact” process for service, repairs and installations. Our Mechanic, who will be wearing a mask and gloves, will call you when we are at your front door and will discuss the issues or concerns you have with your unit. Our customer can then unlock the door, but there is no need to further greet the Mechanic or be present for the service, repair or installation. Please feel free to move to another part of the home while we are working. Final payment can be left for technician or can be done over the phone with our office.
We greatly appreciate your business during this time.

Sincerely,
Ken Gough

URGENT SAFETY NOTICE

Elevators installed with more than 4 inches of “gap space” between the hoistway doors and the elevator car doors can pose a serious safety risk. Children may become entrapped in the space and could be seriously injured or killed. This risk can be reduced with the proper installation of space guards at each floor.

Deciding on the Best Elevator Cab For Your Needs

Deciding on the Best Elevator Cab For Your Needs

Here are tips we have that can help you decide on the best elevator cab.

If you need a home elevator, one decision you’ll have to make is what kind of elevator cab you get. Given the importance of this cab, and what a big investment it can be, this decision can be fairly stressful. That’s why we’re here to help provide guidance so that you can make the best choice for your home. Here are tips we have that can help you decide on the best elevator cab.

Keep Your Passengers in Mind

Unlike a commercial elevator, which typically moves large numbers of people each day, a home elevator is usually only meant for specific people to use. This is helpful because it allows you to customize your elevator cab so that it’s most suitable for the people who will be using your elevator on a daily basis.

Can your cab comfortably fit the person/people using it? Do you have any passenger(s) who use a wheelchair? Questions like these need to be answered so that your elevator cab can satisfy the needs of your passengers. An elevator installation company can provide insight on a good design when you tell them who will be using the elevator.

Think About the Maintenance Requirements

When you pick an elevator cab for your house, you should also think about its maintenance requirements. A big determining factor in the cab you choose is where the cab is located. If your elevator cab is installed outdoors, you’ll need to focus on having the most durable option available so that it can withstand whatever types of weather come your way.

On the other hand, perhaps you’re installing your home elevator right inside of your house. If this is the case, you won’t have to worry about the weather impacting you as much. This lets you pick an elevator cab that has greater emphasis on aesthetic appeal.
