COVID-19 Notice

Preferred Elevator would like to assure our customers that we are taking all necessary steps to do our part in flattening the curve of COVID-19. We have developed a “No Family Contact” process for service, repairs and installations. Our Mechanic, who will be wearing a mask and gloves, will call you when we are at your front door and will discuss the issues or concerns you have with your unit. Our customer can then unlock the door, but there is no need to further greet the Mechanic or be present for the service, repair or installation. Please feel free to move to another part of the home while we are working. Final payment can be left for technician or can be done over the phone with our office.
We greatly appreciate your business during this time.

Sincerely,
Ken Gough

URGENT SAFETY NOTICE

Elevators installed with more than 4 inches of “gap space” between the hoistway doors and the elevator car doors can pose a serious safety risk. Children may become entrapped in the space and could be seriously injured or killed. This risk can be reduced with the proper installation of space guards at each floor.

Best Times to Install a Home Elevator

Best Times to Install a Home Elevator

Today, we’ll be discussing situations that would make a home elevator installation a smart move.

For many people, elevators are thought to be used solely in business environments. Nowadays, however, a growing number of people are embracing just how useful an elevator can be in the home environment. Given how large of an investment a home elevator can be, you want to be sure the installation is a good decision. Today, we’ll be discussing situations that would make a home elevator installation a smart move.

Building it During the Construction of the Home

If you’re in the process of constructing your home, this would be the perfect time to construct your elevator as well. That way, you can work your elevator directly into the design of your home. This is better than trying to awkwardly fit it into a home that wasn’t designed with an elevator in mind. Also, when an elevator is considered with the design of the home, it gives you more options regarding what type or size of elevator you install.

Build a Home Elevator During Home Renovation Projects

While building an elevator while your home is being built is the preferred option, you could also opt to install one later if you don’t need one right away. Perhaps you’re in the middle of a big home renovation project. In this kind of situation, the time could be just right to install your very own elevator.

The number of designs that work with your home’s design might be more limited, but you avoid having to pay for repair and maintenance expenses until you truly need the elevator in your home. This can save you money that you don’t necessarily need to spend right away.
