COVID-19 Notice

Preferred Elevator would like to assure our customers that we are taking all necessary steps to do our part in flattening the curve of COVID-19. We have developed a “No Family Contact” process for service, repairs and installations. Our Mechanic, who will be wearing a mask and gloves, will call you when we are at your front door and will discuss the issues or concerns you have with your unit. Our customer can then unlock the door, but there is no need to further greet the Mechanic or be present for the service, repair or installation. Please feel free to move to another part of the home while we are working. Final payment can be left for technician or can be done over the phone with our office.
We greatly appreciate your business during this time.

Sincerely,
Ken Gough

URGENT SAFETY NOTICE

Elevators installed with more than 4 inches of “gap space” between the hoistway doors and the elevator car doors can pose a serious safety risk. Children may become entrapped in the space and could be seriously injured or killed. This risk can be reduced with the proper installation of space guards at each floor.

Benefits of Getting a Stairlift for Your Home

Benefits of Getting a Stairlift for Your Home

Installing a stairlift for seniors has many benefits; please keep reading to see what they are!

Going up and down the stairs is quite a hassle. It is a more challenging activity for seniors or sick people. Having weakened muscles and a lack of stability, it becomes much harder to navigate the stairs easily.

However, you can install a stairlift for seniors or for a person of any age who may need it to ease the navigation in your home. Installing a stairlift for seniors has many benefits; please keep reading to see what they are!

Safety Purposes

You may think that walking up and down the stairs is an excellent way to exercise. Sure, it is; however, it is risky for a senior with limited mobility, weak muscles, and reduced vision. A single misstep can lead to a fall with severe injuries. Therefore, using a stairlift is a safer method for seniors to access any floor of the house.

Promotes Independence

The main reason most seniors are dependent on others is their mobility limitations. The staircases make it harder or even impossible for them to access the upper level or the basement of their home, thus becoming dependent on caregivers or relatives to help them access those areas. At some point, they could have to move everything to the first level to enhance accessibility. However, with the stairlift, they can easily access all of their rooms without depending on anyone.

Easy To Use

The stairlifts we install are not another complex technology; instead, it is a simple technique that makes life easier. Just sit on the seat, fasten the seatbelt, then press and hold the rocker switch on the arm of the seat, and the rest is a smooth ride to the destination.

Convenience Purposes

The stairlifts are popular due to the convenience they offer—a smooth and comfortable ride. So, in case you forget something downstairs, you won’t mind getting it because there is no hassle involved.

Cheaper Aging Solution

Limited mobility, weak muscles, and reduced vision characterize aging. Therefore, seniors have a few options to choose from, relocate to a single-level home or assisted living facility or install stairlifts in their home. The latter is cheaper and hassle-free since the seniors will be more comfortable in their own house.
