Here are things you should check before you get a home stairlift repair.
Do you have a home stairlift installed in your house? If you do, you’ll want to keep it in top shape at all times so people can use it when they need it. If you notice that your stairlift isn’t working properly, you’ll want to check on it to see what the problem might be. Here are things you should check before you get a home stairlift repair.
See if Your Home Stairlift is Getting Power
If you find that your home stairlift isn’t moving, you’ll first want to check and see if the power is turned on. While this is one of the more obvious factors to take into consideration, that also makes it easy to overlook. Make sure that the key is switched to the “on” position. On top of that, you’ll want to make sure that the on and off buttons on the chair’s arm are also turned on, as well as the buttons on all separate control units.
Make Adjustments to the Swivel Seat
Every stairlift chair has a default swivel position. If this seat is positioned towards the landing, it will prevent the chair from operating, all the while notifying you about the issue. To correct this problem, put the swivel chair back in the proper position each time you use it. You’ll know if your chair is in the wrong position because an error code gets displayed in this situation.
See if There are Obstructions Along the Stairs
Sometimes, your home stairlift could encounter problems if there are obstructions along the staircase that block your stairlift’s path. Even new flooring and carpeting can sometimes mess with your stairlift.
You also want to tap both sides of the foot rest to be sure that it’s functioning as it should. Your home stairlift will not work if its underpan sensors find that there are obstructions in the way.
