COVID-19 Notice

Preferred Elevator would like to assure our customers that we are taking all necessary steps to do our part in flattening the curve of COVID-19. We have developed a “No Family Contact” process for service, repairs and installations. Our Mechanic, who will be wearing a mask and gloves, will call you when we are at your front door and will discuss the issues or concerns you have with your unit. Our customer can then unlock the door, but there is no need to further greet the Mechanic or be present for the service, repair or installation. Please feel free to move to another part of the home while we are working. Final payment can be left for technician or can be done over the phone with our office.
We greatly appreciate your business during this time.

Sincerely,
Ken Gough

URGENT SAFETY NOTICE

Elevators installed with more than 4 inches of “gap space” between the hoistway doors and the elevator car doors can pose a serious safety risk. Children may become entrapped in the space and could be seriously injured or killed. This risk can be reduced with the proper installation of space guards at each floor.

How To Choose The Perfect Stairlift For Your Home

How could you household benefit from a stairlift?

Learn how to choose the perfect stairlift to meet all of your needs.

Sometimes in life, aging or a mobility issue makes it difficult for a person to travel around their home.  One of the most effective ways to improve travel for a person with mobility issues is installing a stairlift in their home.  A stairlift allows anyone to go up and down their stairs easily, just by sitting.  Although choosing a stairlift can seem like an overwhelming process, there are a few simple tips you should follow when choosing a stairlift that will make the whole process go by quick and painlessly.

Know Your Stairs

When it comes to choosing the specific type of stairlift for your home, it all depends on the kind of stairs that are in your residence.  If you have a straight, single flight of stairs, then you should invest in a straight stairlift.  If there are turns or curves in your staircases, then your best option is a custom curved stairlift.  Regardless of the type of stairs you have in your home, there is a stairlift solution that will get you to your destination safely.

Design Specifics

When you are choosing your stairlift, you should be able to customize it with features that meet your needs.  With Preferred Elevator, you can design your stairlift to include a variety of features from arm and footrests to a swivel seat. All of the stairlifts from Preferred Elevator allow for easy operation.

Physique

Before you purchase a stairlift, you need to make sure it is the right fit for your specific height and weight.  Your height and weight will determine the size of the chair you need as well as the size of the entire structure.  Once you determine the parameters, then you can move onto choosing the best stairlift for your needs.
