COVID-19 Notice

Preferred Elevator would like to assure our customers that we are taking all necessary steps to do our part in flattening the curve of COVID-19. We have developed a “No Family Contact” process for service, repairs and installations. Our Mechanic, who will be wearing a mask and gloves, will call you when we are at your front door and will discuss the issues or concerns you have with your unit. Our customer can then unlock the door, but there is no need to further greet the Mechanic or be present for the service, repair or installation. Please feel free to move to another part of the home while we are working. Final payment can be left for technician or can be done over the phone with our office.
We greatly appreciate your business during this time.

Sincerely,
Ken Gough

URGENT SAFETY NOTICE

Elevators installed with more than 4 inches of “gap space” between the hoistway doors and the elevator car doors can pose a serious safety risk. Children may become entrapped in the space and could be seriously injured or killed. This risk can be reduced with the proper installation of space guards at each floor.

Benefits of a Vertical Wheelchair Lift

A vertical platform lift has many benefits, especially when an area is small, tight, or constrained. Wheelchair users need accessibility and a way to bypass steps. Spring is here which means that decks and patios are in use for cookouts and gathering friends and family together.

A vertical platform lift has many benefits, especially when an area is small, tight, or constrained. Wheelchair users need accessibility and a way to bypass steps. Spring is here which means that decks and patios are in use for cookouts and gathering friends and family together. The common misconception is that wheelchairs hinder a person’s mobility, but in today’s age of engineering advancements, this isn’t true. Individuals in wheelchairs can get around and enjoy their lives just like anyone. A wheelchair user can enjoy an outside event on a deck or patio because a vertical wheelchair lift uses a platform to raise the lift the user without them needing to leave their wheelchair. The installation of vertical wheelchair lifts occurs indoors as well! Keep reading for more advantages of adding a vertical wheelchair lift to your home.

Promotes Independence

An individual who lacks mobility can regain their independence with a vertical wheelchair lift. They won’t have to rely on other people to move around or get where they’re going. Due to it being user-friendly it won’t be complicated for a disabled person to move around as they please freely.

Improves Well-Being and Safety

Some people who need wheelchairs are not entirely immobile. They may be able to walk a few steps or climb a few steps when they need to, but for some, this can put a strain on their heart. For those who struggle to climb steps, a vertical wheelchair lift will put them at ease. Also, this device eliminates the possibility of someone injuring themselves or falling. Just imagine you or your loved one being able to read the newspaper on the patio or deck without supervision needed. Being able to do more for yourself improves the quality of life.

Better than Wheelchair Ramps

With a wheelchair ramp, the user or caregiver often has to assert a lot of physical strength. There is also the possibility of the user rolling back into a downward incline. A ramp also takes up a lot of space. A vertical wheelchair lift is entirely customizable, ranging in height and weight.

If you’re disabled or elderly, don’t assume that you need to limit yourself single-leveled housing or limit yourself in life overall. We have a variety of lifts that will suit your needs. We also install residential elevators to aid in helping you maneuver smoothly through your home. On a budget? No worries. Vertical wheelchair lifts and residential elevators are affordable!
