COVID-19 Notice

Preferred Elevator would like to assure our customers that we are taking all necessary steps to do our part in flattening the curve of COVID-19. We have developed a “No Family Contact” process for service, repairs and installations. Our Mechanic, who will be wearing a mask and gloves, will call you when we are at your front door and will discuss the issues or concerns you have with your unit. Our customer can then unlock the door, but there is no need to further greet the Mechanic or be present for the service, repair or installation. Please feel free to move to another part of the home while we are working. Final payment can be left for technician or can be done over the phone with our office.
We greatly appreciate your business during this time.

Sincerely,
Ken Gough

URGENT SAFETY NOTICE

Elevators installed with more than 4 inches of “gap space” between the hoistway doors and the elevator car doors can pose a serious safety risk. Children may become entrapped in the space and could be seriously injured or killed. This risk can be reduced with the proper installation of space guards at each floor.

Benefits of a Stairlift

A stairlift can enhance the lives of those with limited mobility

A stairlift can enhance the lives of those with limited mobility. If you experience mobility impairments, then a stairlift can help give you the independence that you crave. Not only are stairlifts easy to install within a residence, but they’re affordable and versatile enough to fit the needs of any homeowner. Here at Preferred Elevator, we are experts in servicing those who find it hard to walk up and down stairs, are disabled or find it hard to move around with ease. We want to make the lives of our customers more comfortable and safer! How can a stairlift benefit you? Keep reading to find out!

Stairlifts are Very Safe

It’s natural to be skeptical about the safety of any product. Here at Preferred Elevator, we believe that safety should always come first. Unfortunately, statistics show that falls are the leading cause of fatal and non-fatal injuries for older Americans, with most falls happening inside their homes. A large number of those people are wheelchair users. A lot of older people also have arthritis, making it challenging to move up and down the stairs. Stairlifts help to eliminate the possibility of falls because you’ll be seated as the device safely moves you up and down stairs. Less strain is put on your body, lessening the pain from arthritis.

What makes a stairlift extremely safe is the safety mechanism that are built into the device that can detect when objects are in its way. It also has a backup battery if you experience a power outage. Also, there are safety features that can prevent children from activating the unit. All you have to do is get in, buckle up, and enjoy the benefits of safely gaining your independence back.

Stairlifts can be Modified to Fit

Have a small staircase? No worries! Stairlifts are able to be modified easily so  we can install them on any type of stairs. Whether your stairs are straight, or have a landing that is curved, straight, or a combination of both, you won’t be limited. The seats and footrests are also comfortable and come in 2 sizes to be accommodating. There is an operating switch on the chair itself and comes with remotes, which are useful and convenient in getting you from floor-to-floor.

Save Money with a Stairlift

Stairlifts are economical when it comes to installation, but there’s a bigger picture. Americans spend a lot of money sending their loved ones to nursing homes or senior living facilities because they’re afraid that they can no longer enjoy their home due to mobility issues. Another occurrence is moving their loved ones into a home with one story.  Millions of homes in America have at least two stories and it can be devastating to make such drastic changes so late in life. People are living longer, which is fantastic, but elders deserve to live their lives as they always have independently. A stairlift can give them the freedom to do so and save money at the same time.
