COVID-19 Notice

Preferred Elevator would like to assure our customers that we are taking all necessary steps to do our part in flattening the curve of COVID-19. We have developed a “No Family Contact” process for service, repairs and installations. Our Mechanic, who will be wearing a mask and gloves, will call you when we are at your front door and will discuss the issues or concerns you have with your unit. Our customer can then unlock the door, but there is no need to further greet the Mechanic or be present for the service, repair or installation. Please feel free to move to another part of the home while we are working. Final payment can be left for technician or can be done over the phone with our office.
We greatly appreciate your business during this time.

Sincerely,
Ken Gough

URGENT SAFETY NOTICE

Elevators installed with more than 4 inches of “gap space” between the hoistway doors and the elevator car doors can pose a serious safety risk. Children may become entrapped in the space and could be seriously injured or killed. This risk can be reduced with the proper installation of space guards at each floor.

Benefits of a Dumbwaiter

A dumbwaiter is a small lift used to transport objects instead of people from floor to floor.

A dumbwaiter is a small lift used to transport objects, instead of people, from floor to floor. Primarily, dumbwaiters have commercial usage in schools, hospitals, hotels and restaurants, and retirement homes but can be utilized in residences as well. A pulley mechanism pulls the dumbwaiter up and down the shaft. Anyone who uses a dumbwaiter quickly realizes that it has many benefits. It saves times, decreases physical strain, and is a low-maintenance device to have in your place of business or residence. Keep reading to discover more benefits of utilizing a dumbwaiter.

Transports Items With Ease

The primary reason to invest in a dumbwaiter is so that you can transport items without needing to physically lift and carry them.  If you own a large business, then essential items could be transported across departments within a matter of moments. Within a restaurant setting, carrying large, heavy trays of food can be risky. Therefore, a dumbwaiter could come in handy. In a hotel setting, protecting a guest’s luggage is vital and employees need to be sure not to damage a guest’s personal items. A dumbwaiter takes away that possibility.

Reduces Physical Strain

When a person carries a heavy item, it can put significant strain on their back. Walking up and down multiple flights of stairs, especially when moving heavy objects, can put a lot of stress on the body. Taking away the pressure of transporting objects makes life much more comfortable, especially for someone with limited mobility.

Dumbwaiters Save Time

Within a business, productivity means everything. If employees can save time by not transporting items, then it means that your business can run more efficiently. Also, there are always risks when carrying precious cargo. Dropping a product could result in it becoming damaged, which means that you’ll spend money to replace it. A dumbwaiter takes away these worries.

Saves Space

Because dumbwaiters are compact, they take up less room than a traditional elevator. They are ideal for small story buildings and easily integrate into a preexisting building’s architecture. Incorporating a dumbwaiter into your residence or place of business doesn’t require a large, ongoing demolition and construction.
