COVID-19 Notice

Preferred Elevator would like to assure our customers that we are taking all necessary steps to do our part in flattening the curve of COVID-19. We have developed a “No Family Contact” process for service, repairs and installations. Our Mechanic, who will be wearing a mask and gloves, will call you when we are at your front door and will discuss the issues or concerns you have with your unit. Our customer can then unlock the door, but there is no need to further greet the Mechanic or be present for the service, repair or installation. Please feel free to move to another part of the home while we are working. Final payment can be left for technician or can be done over the phone with our office.
We greatly appreciate your business during this time.

Sincerely,
Ken Gough

URGENT SAFETY NOTICE

Elevators installed with more than 4 inches of “gap space” between the hoistway doors and the elevator car doors can pose a serious safety risk. Children may become entrapped in the space and could be seriously injured or killed. This risk can be reduced with the proper installation of space guards at each floor.

Reasons to Get a Stairlift Installed in Your House

Here are reasons you should consider installing a stairlift in your house.

Is there a relative or friend you know who has a tough time getting around their house? To remedy this issue, some people may suggest investing in a home elevator. While this can be an effective option in some cases, there is another option available for those interested: stairlifts. A stairlift, under the right conditions, can serve the same function as a home elevator. With that said, why would you choose to get a stairlift instead of an elevator if their functions are similar? Here are reasons you should consider installing a stairlift in your house.

They Provide Mobility Without Limiting Home Space

For those who may have limited mobility, it can be tough to access the different floors of your house. While a home elevator can sometimes be the ideal solution, there are some homeowners without sufficient space to install one. A stairlift, on the other hand, is a more compact feature, allowing you to fit it into much tighter areas of your home. As a result, you can still get to the different levels of your home while requiring much less space.

Stairlifts are Easy to Use

You won’t want to read a manual every time you want to go upstairs. That’s why whatever device you use to get up and down your stairs should be easy to operate. Stairlifts, fortunately, fit this description as all you need to do is hold a toggle switch on the lift’s armrest and you’re good to go. When you’re ready to get off the stairlift, simply release that toggle switch and exit the lift. If there is more than one resident who would need the same stairlift, there are models that are operated via remote control, allowing you to bring the lift wherever you need it to be.
