COVID-19 Notice

Preferred Elevator would like to assure our customers that we are taking all necessary steps to do our part in flattening the curve of COVID-19. We have developed a “No Family Contact” process for service, repairs and installations. Our Mechanic, who will be wearing a mask and gloves, will call you when we are at your front door and will discuss the issues or concerns you have with your unit. Our customer can then unlock the door, but there is no need to further greet the Mechanic or be present for the service, repair or installation. Please feel free to move to another part of the home while we are working. Final payment can be left for technician or can be done over the phone with our office.
We greatly appreciate your business during this time.

Sincerely,
Ken Gough

URGENT SAFETY NOTICE

Elevators installed with more than 4 inches of “gap space” between the hoistway doors and the elevator car doors can pose a serious safety risk. Children may become entrapped in the space and could be seriously injured or killed. This risk can be reduced with the proper installation of space guards at each floor.

Home Preparations and Modifications

If your loved one has trouble walking up and down the steps, then give us a call. We can explore several options to help them age independently and move around in their home comfortably. Residential elevators used to be so expensive that only the wealthiest homeowners used them, but now they’re a common and affordable home modification. We also offer stairlifts whether the staircase is straight or curved. Another solution is our wheelchair lifts that have indoor and outdoor applications. It’s the summertime so that means that there’s BBQ’s and gatherings galore. Imagine the joy that the elderly in your life will have, being able to move with ease from their deck and yard to the interior of their home easily and independently.

Another way to prepare the home is to make sure that it’s safe and secure. Alarm systems have advanced tremendously. Home automation helps any adult to surveil their home from their smartphone as well as turn off lights, control thermostats, and even lock doors. Home automation is ideal for any adult that has limited mobility because they can control and see what’s going on in their home without needing to travel downstairs.

Personal Emergency Response Systems (PERS)

With just the touch of a button, PERS helps an older adult in an emergency alert authorities. Remember the Life Alert commercials? Having these devices are crucial in the case of a fall or mishap. One vital part of aging independently is being able to get help quickly when needed. Also, our stairlifts can help to prevent falls in the first place!
