COVID-19 Notice

Preferred Elevator would like to assure our customers that we are taking all necessary steps to do our part in flattening the curve of COVID-19. We have developed a “No Family Contact” process for service, repairs and installations. Our Mechanic, who will be wearing a mask and gloves, will call you when we are at your front door and will discuss the issues or concerns you have with your unit. Our customer can then unlock the door, but there is no need to further greet the Mechanic or be present for the service, repair or installation. Please feel free to move to another part of the home while we are working. Final payment can be left for technician or can be done over the phone with our office.
We greatly appreciate your business during this time.

Sincerely,
Ken Gough

URGENT SAFETY NOTICE

Elevators installed with more than 4 inches of “gap space” between the hoistway doors and the elevator car doors can pose a serious safety risk. Children may become entrapped in the space and could be seriously injured or killed. This risk can be reduced with the proper installation of space guards at each floor.

Discussing Home Elevator Myths

Discussing Home Elevator Myths

Here are some of the elevator myths that you may have heard.

If you or someone you know has limited mobility, one of the biggest concerns you’ll have is navigating through your home. After all, home is where you’ll spend a significant portion of your time, so getting to the different areas of the house should be as easy as possible. One solution to this problem is to invest in a home elevator. Some people may be hesitant to install one because of some myths they’ve heard, but we’re here to debunk them for you today. Here are some of the elevator myths that you may have heard.

“A Home Elevator Would Be Pricey to Install”

There is a kernel of truth to this statement. A home elevator is a big investment, so there will be a price to be paid. With that said, when you work with the right elevator company, they can help you establish a budget that’s more comfortable for you. There might even be the option to spread out your payment over a longer period of time, which makes your initial payment less intimidating.

“Home Elevators are Unappealing”

Aesthetic appeal isn’t what home elevators are known for having. With that said, they are far from being an eyesore in anyone’s home. While elevator styles were more limited back in the day, modern elevators come with more stylistic options. You can even embellish your elevator with various customizable options, like car colors and carpeting, to further bolster its appearance.

“It Takes a Long Time to Install a Home Elevator”

Anyone who plans to use a home elevator will want to make use of it as quickly as possible. Fortunately, home elevators can be installed fairly quickly. As long as no major building work is needed, you should be able to get your elevator installed in roughly one or two days.
