COVID-19 Notice

Preferred Elevator would like to assure our customers that we are taking all necessary steps to do our part in flattening the curve of COVID-19. We have developed a “No Family Contact” process for service, repairs and installations. Our Mechanic, who will be wearing a mask and gloves, will call you when we are at your front door and will discuss the issues or concerns you have with your unit. Our customer can then unlock the door, but there is no need to further greet the Mechanic or be present for the service, repair or installation. Please feel free to move to another part of the home while we are working. Final payment can be left for technician or can be done over the phone with our office.
We greatly appreciate your business during this time.

Sincerely,
Ken Gough

URGENT SAFETY NOTICE

Elevators installed with more than 4 inches of “gap space” between the hoistway doors and the elevator car doors can pose a serious safety risk. Children may become entrapped in the space and could be seriously injured or killed. This risk can be reduced with the proper installation of space guards at each floor.

Installation

Preferred Elevator is known in the industry for providing quality residential and commercial elevator installations with honesty and efficiency, at a reasonable price. Don’t take our word for it though; check out our client reviews on independently verified review sites such as Better Business Bureau or Yelp. Our performance is backed up by years of experience and industry compliant credentials. Elevator contractors are required by law to be licensed and insured, but not all contractors abide by that standard. Always ask to see your elevator contractor’s license before beginning an installation project. Our team at Preferred Elevator consists of educated, licensed elevator mechanics, all of whom have completed or are working toward completion of a five-year apprentice program through the National Elevator Industry Program (NEIEP).

Are you thinking about a mobility installation for your home? Contact us to discuss your options and determine which product might suit your needs. When having your home elevator, stairlift, wheelchair lift, material lift, or dumbwaiter installed, it’s important to speak with your contractor about the different safety mechanisms installed. This will provide you the confidence needed to ensure that your elevator remains safe. The equipment we install is selected based on customer need and high standards of reliability.

Some homeowners choose to build their own elevators in an attempt to save money. We don’t recommend this approach, but if you have a self-installed elevator, it’s crucial to have it inspected regularly. Accidents can happen, so you need to take all the necessary precautions to ensure that the elevator remains safe at all times. Having a third party come in and inspect it can be a great way to make sure the elevator runs properly and that all safety devices are functioning.

As you’re beginning to consider which mobility solution may be right for you, ask yourself the following questions:

  • What are the mobility challenges within my home?
  • How much space do I have available for the different types of installations?
  • What is my budget?

Preferred Elevator can provide you with a free assessment to help you answer these questions, to make sure that all stones are turned and every potential issue is accounted for.
