COVID-19 Notice

Preferred Elevator would like to assure our customers that we are taking all necessary steps to do our part in flattening the curve of COVID-19. We have developed a “No Family Contact” process for service, repairs and installations. Our Mechanic, who will be wearing a mask and gloves, will call you when we are at your front door and will discuss the issues or concerns you have with your unit. Our customer can then unlock the door, but there is no need to further greet the Mechanic or be present for the service, repair or installation. Please feel free to move to another part of the home while we are working. Final payment can be left for technician or can be done over the phone with our office.

URGENT SAFETY NOTICE

Elevators installed with more than 4 inches of “gap space” between the hoistway doors and the elevator car doors can pose a serious safety risk. Children may become entrapped in the space and could be seriously injured or killed. This risk can be reduced with the proper installation of space guards at each floor.

  • I own an older model Inclinator chair lift. I started having problem with the controls. I called 3 different companies and none of them would look at the chair. I called Preferred Elevator Company and they sent a technician the next day. He quickly found the problem and took care of it.   • Dear Ken, In October of 2005; at the age of 25, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Since my diagnoses, my life has changed dramatically due to the worsening of symptoms such as: difficulty walking, foot drop, left side weakness, loss of balance, loss of coordination, muscle weakness, tremors, etc. Due to the aforementioned symptoms, my Neurologist prescribed a Stair Lift, which would make it easier to continue daily activities.   • My wife and I purchased an elevator from Preferred Elevator 6 years ago and found that it was one of the best decisions we've ever made! We weren't sure what product to purchase, but Ken Gough, the owner, showed us all the pros and cons and helped us select the product which gave us the all the features we needed at the most economical cost. He was able to arrange for the elevator to have all the custom items we wanted, including specific dimensions which would help us to best make full use of it. They also worked very closely with the contractor who built our elevator shaft to assure that it was exactly to their drawings and compatible in very way. Once installed, we stayed with Preferred Elevator for the necessary maintenance. The company is very sensitive to the fact that residential elevators are often used to help customers who have medical conditions which make it difficult for them to use stairs. As a result, when he gets a call he is extremely responsive and has whatever the problem may have been resolved faster than we even hoped for.
