COVID-19 Notice

Preferred Elevator would like to assure our customers that we are taking all necessary steps to do our part in flattening the curve of COVID-19. We have developed a “No Family Contact” process for service, repairs and installations. Our Mechanic, who will be wearing a mask and gloves, will call you when we are at your front door and will discuss the issues or concerns you have with your unit. Our customer can then unlock the door, but there is no need to further greet the Mechanic or be present for the service, repair or installation. Please feel free to move to another part of the home while we are working. Final payment can be left for technician or can be done over the phone with our office.
We greatly appreciate your business during this time.

Sincerely,
Ken Gough

URGENT SAFETY NOTICE

Elevators installed with more than 4 inches of “gap space” between the hoistway doors and the elevator car doors can pose a serious safety risk. Children may become entrapped in the space and could be seriously injured or killed. This risk can be reduced with the proper installation of space guards at each floor.

Stairlifts

Man Riding an Elan SRE 3000 StairliftIf taking the stairs is a source of pain and stress for you or someone in your household but a home elevator is not the right solution due to space or budget constraints, Preferred Elevator can help resolve multi-floor accessibility challenges with a stairlift installation. From Potomac to Ellicott City, we install, maintain, and inspect stairlifts and stairchairs so that our clients can remain in their own homes as they age, or if they’re living with a disability. When you or a loved one is faced with the choice to move or improve, know that there are many cost-effective and minimally invasive ways to make your home more accommodating to your mobility requirements, and a stairlift installation is at the top of the list. At Preferred Elevator, we strive to make your home fully accessible so that multiple levels don’t detract from the function of your home, and from your quality of life. No need to fret at the bottom of the stairs, just sit right down into your stairchair and move on up.

Are you undecided as to whether stairlift installation is the right choice for you? At Preferred Elevator, we can help you review your unique situation, and provide design and cost options to meet your specific need. Reasons for favoring a stairlift over a home elevator can include lower cost, quicker installation, and fewer remodeling requirements. Sometimes people are concerned about a clunky aesthetic, but rest assured that there are numerous ways to customize your stairlift installation so that it’s not a visual detriment to your home.

Since we work only with the most reputable manufacturers, our stairlifts are safe, durable, and adaptable to most stairways. Our designs are carefully planned and implemented for visual benefit as well as physical need, so that this accessibility adaptation is a complement to your living environment. We can work with straight rail or curved rail designs, inside or outside of your home. We offer a variety of styles from which to choose, so that you can find a stairlift solution to fit your budget.
