COVID-19 Notice

Preferred Elevator would like to assure our customers that we are taking all necessary steps to do our part in flattening the curve of COVID-19. We have developed a “No Family Contact” process for service, repairs and installations. Our Mechanic, who will be wearing a mask and gloves, will call you when we are at your front door and will discuss the issues or concerns you have with your unit. Our customer can then unlock the door, but there is no need to further greet the Mechanic or be present for the service, repair or installation. Please feel free to move to another part of the home while we are working. Final payment can be left for technician or can be done over the phone with our office.
We greatly appreciate your business during this time.

Sincerely,
Ken Gough

URGENT SAFETY NOTICE

Elevators installed with more than 4 inches of “gap space” between the hoistway doors and the elevator car doors can pose a serious safety risk. Children may become entrapped in the space and could be seriously injured or killed. This risk can be reduced with the proper installation of space guards at each floor.

Why Elevator Maintenance is Needed Around Your House

Why Elevator Maintenance is Needed Around Your House

Regular elevator maintenance gives you several advantages.

Your home elevator is a vital component of your property. They allow the access you need to all the different rooms in your home, no matter the floor on which they’re located, and they are especially handy for those who have limited mobility. It goes without saying that you’ll always want your elevator to be fully functional. To keep your elevator functional, however, a little service and maintenance will be needed every now and again. Regular elevator maintenance gives you several advantages, one of which being peace of mind that your elevator is functioning properly and safely.

Reduce the Likelihood and Frequency of Repairs

If given a choice, would you rather deal with issues that are smaller and more manageable, or ones that are larger and more problematic? Keeping problems as small as possible is always preferred, and when you take the time to schedule regular elevator maintenance, you can detect problems before they scale out of control.

Promotes Greater Safety

Elevators should be safe, and if you want to keep them safe, you should check on them regularly. You don’t want your elevator to suddenly run into problems that can put people in danger. By monitoring your elevator, you are doing your part to keep everyone who uses it protected.

Raise Your Elevator’s Longevity

Elevators are designed to last for years, howeverertheir lifespan can be cut short if you don’t take good care of them. Elevator maintenance reduces the number of breakdowns your elevator could experience throughout its life, and it means you can catch problems that could damage your elevator sooner. This minimizes the amount of down time and repairs your elevator sustains, and with your elevator suffering minimal damage, you get the most years possible from it.

Make Sudden Breakdowns Less Likely

You don’t ever want your home elevator to experience a breakdown, but if you don’t check on it regularly, the likelihood of breakdowns increases. However, you can make this much less likely to occur as long as you are having service to your elevator frequently. This way,  abnormalities in your elevator are found right away meaning you can take steps to address any potential problems your elevator could be facing. Always contact an elevator company to perform the service and any  maintenance/repairs that need to be done on your elevator to ensure it stays in top shape for years to come.
