COVID-19 Notice

Preferred Elevator would like to assure our customers that we are taking all necessary steps to do our part in flattening the curve of COVID-19. We have developed a “No Family Contact” process for service, repairs and installations. Our Mechanic, who will be wearing a mask and gloves, will call you when we are at your front door and will discuss the issues or concerns you have with your unit. Our customer can then unlock the door, but there is no need to further greet the Mechanic or be present for the service, repair or installation. Please feel free to move to another part of the home while we are working. Final payment can be left for technician or can be done over the phone with our office.
We greatly appreciate your business during this time.

Sincerely,
Ken Gough

URGENT SAFETY NOTICE

Elevators installed with more than 4 inches of “gap space” between the hoistway doors and the elevator car doors can pose a serious safety risk. Children may become entrapped in the space and could be seriously injured or killed. This risk can be reduced with the proper installation of space guards at each floor.

What to Consider When You Purchase a Dumbwaiter Lift

What to Consider When You Purchase a Dumbwaiter Lift

Today, we’ll look at considerations you should make whenever you’re picking out a dumbwaiter lift.

Dumbwaiters may be well known in commercial settings, but they have plenty of purposes in residential settings as well. They make it a lot easier to transport items from one floor of your home to another, making them a great convenience to have no matter what your home setting may be. With that in mind, you should think carefully when getting one for yourself. Today, we’ll look at considerations you should make whenever you’re picking out a dumbwaiter lift.

Think About Its Weight Limit

One of the most important considerations when getting a dumbwaiter lift should be understanding its weight limits. Think about what items you’ll be loading onto your lift, and determine if the lift model you’re getting will be able to carry what needs to be carried.

What Size Will Your Dumbwaiter Lift Be?

A dumbwaiter lift will take up some space, and you need to know how much space that will be. Before that, you should determine how much space is available in your home. At that point, you can figure out which models will fit within your room’s dimensions. The larger your room is, the larger your lift can be, and vice-versa.

What Safety Features Will Your Dumbwaiter Lift Need?

Safety is important for any aspect of your home, and your dumbwaiter lift isn’t exempt from this rule. That’s why you need to establish what safety features your lift should have. Features including an emergency stop button and door interlocks will help keep you protected while you’re operating your lift. It can also help to consult with a professional dumbwaiter company to get a better idea for what safety features you should want your lift to have.
