COVID-19 Notice

Preferred Elevator would like to assure our customers that we are taking all necessary steps to do our part in flattening the curve of COVID-19. We have developed a “No Family Contact” process for service, repairs and installations. Our Mechanic, who will be wearing a mask and gloves, will call you when we are at your front door and will discuss the issues or concerns you have with your unit. Our customer can then unlock the door, but there is no need to further greet the Mechanic or be present for the service, repair or installation. Please feel free to move to another part of the home while we are working. Final payment can be left for technician or can be done over the phone with our office.
We greatly appreciate your business during this time.

Sincerely,
Ken Gough

URGENT SAFETY NOTICE

Elevators installed with more than 4 inches of “gap space” between the hoistway doors and the elevator car doors can pose a serious safety risk. Children may become entrapped in the space and could be seriously injured or killed. This risk can be reduced with the proper installation of space guards at each floor.

The Advantages of Adding a Dumbwaiter to Your Home

Matot floor load-dumbwaiter

A dumbwaiter doesn’t only have commercial use. Residential dumbwaiters exist as well, and they can make your life more convenient in many ways. Dumbwaiters are small freight elevators that transport objects from floor to floor. Although they do not carry people the way that a residential elevator does, they can make completing daily tasks much more manageable. Here are the advantages of adding a dumbwaiter to your home.

Dumbwaiters Do the Hard Work for You

In your home, you can use a residential dumbwaiter to transport laundry. You can also use this lift to move cleaning products from floor to floor. You may also find it advantageous that a dumbwaiter can carry groceries from your garage to your entrance to your kitchen. For times when certain items are too cumbersome to lift or move, you’ll find that a residential dumbwaiter is handy to have.

A Dumbwaiter Can Alleviate Physical Strain

A common injury that affects people of all ages is the strain that comes with carrying heavy objects, especially up and down the stairs. One way to minimize back pain when lifting heavy objects is to bend at the knees. However, depending on a person’s physical agility, this may not always be a possibility. That’s where a dumbwaiter comes into play. Dumbwaiters reduce the physical strain that comes with carrying an item. Residential dumbwaiters are excellent for everyone, and if your desire is to age in place, your home can be livable for years with a dumbwaiter.

Residential Dumbwaiters Make Your Life More Efficient

Some people find doing chores therapeutic, so they don’t mind taking their time to get daily tasks done. Other people prefer not to spend too long doing laundry or bringing groceries into the house. If you’re the latter, then a dumbwaiter is indeed for you. Because of their quickness and efficiency, you can enjoy spending less time on daily tasks and continue doing what you’d rather be doing, and what you love the most.
