URGENT SAFETY NOTICE

Elevators installed with more than 4 inches of “gap space” between the hoistway doors and the elevator car doors can pose a serious safety risk. Children may become entrapped in the space and could be seriously injured or killed. This risk can be reduced with the proper installation of space guards at each floor.

Signs That You Should Repair or Replace Your Lift

Signs That You Should Repair or Replace Your Lift

Today, we’ll go over the signs that should tell you whether a lift repair or replacement is needed.

Do you have a lift at home that is constantly breaking down? No one wants to deal with constant problems with their lifts, as they can be time intensive to fix while also taking a toll on your wallet. If you’re going to get problems with your lift resolved, it’s important to know when you should try getting it fixed, or if replacing the lift completely is your better option. Today, we’ll go over the signs that should tell you whether a lift repair or replacement is needed.

It’s Always Breaking Down

Does your lift break down much more often than you expect? If so, it’s likely time to hire a repair company to come over and address any problems it has. Depending on the damage, the lift might have to be replaced entirely. The company you hire should be able to tell you which option is more suitable for your situation.

It Makes Unusual Noises

Lifts should never make unusual sounds, so if you hear anything that is out of the ordinary, that’s an indicator that it needs to either get fixed or replaced. A repair company should be able to pinpoint the source of your issue, and determine whether it can be addressed with a simple repair, or if an entire replacement project will be necessary.

It’s Getting Old

Older lifts are more prone to running into problems. Naturally, there will come a point at which it will be unable to function as needed. Repairs will not be able to fix aging lifts, even if they can sometimes serve as a temporary solution, so the only long-term solution you have will be to replace it with a new one.

Wait Times are Too Long

No one wants their lift to be slow. If you find that it’s taking longer to get places with your lift, you should consider hiring a repair company to see what they can do to remedy the issue. This issue is typically repairable, but it’s important to know the problem’s source so it can be properly addressed and resolved.
