COVID-19 Notice

Preferred Elevator would like to assure our customers that we are taking all necessary steps to do our part in flattening the curve of COVID-19. We have developed a “No Family Contact” process for service, repairs and installations. Our Mechanic, who will be wearing a mask and gloves, will call you when we are at your front door and will discuss the issues or concerns you have with your unit. Our customer can then unlock the door, but there is no need to further greet the Mechanic or be present for the service, repair or installation. Please feel free to move to another part of the home while we are working. Final payment can be left for technician or can be done over the phone with our office.
We greatly appreciate your business during this time.

Sincerely,
Ken Gough

URGENT SAFETY NOTICE

Elevators installed with more than 4 inches of “gap space” between the hoistway doors and the elevator car doors can pose a serious safety risk. Children may become entrapped in the space and could be seriously injured or killed. This risk can be reduced with the proper installation of space guards at each floor.

Comparing Dumbwaiters With Home Elevators

Comparing Dumbwaiters With Home Elevators

Today, we’ll be showing you all of the differences between dumbwaiters and home elevators.

Some people might look at dumbwaiters and home elevators and think that size is the only difference between them. This is far from the truth, however. Each of them has many differences that can influence which one you should install in your home. Today, we’ll be showing you all of the differences between dumbwaiters and home elevators.

Functionality

Dumbwaiters and home elevators provide profoundly different purposes for your home. Starting with dumbwaiters, they are better-suited for people who need to move many different items up and down the stairs at a time. You might be carrying firewood, heavy household appliances, laundry, or shopping bags, among other things. Dumbwaiters are not for use by people.

Home elevators, on the other hand, will be better if you simply need to get yourself to the different levels of your house.

Weight and Size Capacity

The size of home elevators versus dumbwaiters is profound. Home elevators tend to be the more sizable of the two. With that said, it all depends on how many people are likely to use the elevator. The fewer people who need to use the elevator, the smaller it is allowed to be.

Dumbwaiters, generally, are the more compact variants andtake less space in your home.

Which is Better for You?

While both dumbwaiters and home elevators have their merits and drawbacks, one of them will ultimately prove to be more favorable for your situation.

To help you come to a decision, we recommend bringing in the help of an elevator installation company. Professionals have been working on people’s properties for years, and they will know what the best type of unit for your usage needs and home will be. Just be sure you select a company that has years of experience and plenty of positive reviews. You want to be sure that the company you pick is trustworthy.
