COVID-19 Notice

Preferred Elevator would like to assure our customers that we are taking all necessary steps to do our part in flattening the curve of COVID-19. We have developed a “No Family Contact” process for service, repairs and installations. Our Mechanic, who will be wearing a mask and gloves, will call you when we are at your front door and will discuss the issues or concerns you have with your unit. Our customer can then unlock the door, but there is no need to further greet the Mechanic or be present for the service, repair or installation. Please feel free to move to another part of the home while we are working. Final payment can be left for technician or can be done over the phone with our office.
We greatly appreciate your business during this time.

Sincerely,
Ken Gough

URGENT SAFETY NOTICE

Elevators installed with more than 4 inches of “gap space” between the hoistway doors and the elevator car doors can pose a serious safety risk. Children may become entrapped in the space and could be seriously injured or killed. This risk can be reduced with the proper installation of space guards at each floor.

Aging in Place Tips From Preferred Elevator

Aging in Place Tips From Preferred Elevator

Aging in place and being happy, safe, and comfortable in your home is possible

Today we’d like to offer a few helpful aging in place tips. “Aging in place” is simply a phrase that means you are able to stay in your home, even as you age, for as long as possible. Modifying your home is the best way to age in place. Home modifications make homes safer, help you move around more comfortably, and make you less prone to accidents. Our expert technicians install products such as home elevators, stairlifts, and wheelchair lifts to make it easier for customers to stay in their homes for decades to come.

Make Sure That Your Home is Accessible

It’s ideal for a home to have one way in and out without any stairs. However, if that is not the case, that’s where we come in handy. Our wheelchair lifts, stairlifts, and residential elevators help remove some of the strain on your body. As you age, steps can cause a lot of tension on the knees, back, and joints. Steps are also a top cause behind falls. If falling is a concern for you, reach out to us today so that we can discuss what option is best for you.

Invest in Having the Best Bed for Your Back

This tip will benefit anyone. If you plan on living in a home forever (or even temporarily), you should make sure you have a mattress that doesn’t cause back pain. If you don’t sleep on a very comfortable bed, then it’s time to get one. You deserve restful and rejuvenating nights sleep. Anything that allows for less tension or stress on your body is well worth the investment.

Always Keep A List of Necessary Resources

The point of home modification devices is to give you your independence back. However, you should never feel ashamed to reach out for help. Everyone needs help and assistance in life. It’s super helpful to keep a list of essential resources (in large, bold letters) close to you so that if you ever need support or become disoriented, you can call someone right away. What’s even better is that technology has come a long way. You can also change the font size on your phone so that the letters appear larger.

Are you considering having one of our lifts installed in your home so that aging in place can become more of a possibility? Then reach out to us today. One of our top goals and priorities is making sure that you’re safe and comfortable in your home.
