COVID-19 Notice

Preferred Elevator would like to assure our customers that we are taking all necessary steps to do our part in flattening the curve of COVID-19. We have developed a “No Family Contact” process for service, repairs and installations. Our Mechanic, who will be wearing a mask and gloves, will call you when we are at your front door and will discuss the issues or concerns you have with your unit. Our customer can then unlock the door, but there is no need to further greet the Mechanic or be present for the service, repair or installation. Please feel free to move to another part of the home while we are working. Final payment can be left for technician or can be done over the phone with our office.
We greatly appreciate your business during this time.

Sincerely,
Ken Gough

URGENT SAFETY NOTICE

Elevators installed with more than 4 inches of “gap space” between the hoistway doors and the elevator car doors can pose a serious safety risk. Children may become entrapped in the space and could be seriously injured or killed. This risk can be reduced with the proper installation of space guards at each floor.

3 Models of Residential Elevators

Residential Elevators Preferred Elevators

Residential elevators can be sleek and seamlessly integrate into your home

Residential elevators can be sleek, stylish, and add elegance to your home. It’s a common misconception that home elevators are ugly and bulky. One of our residential elevator manufacturers, Cambridge Elevating, offers three models of residential elevators. It’s our job to keep our potential customers well-informed and aware of all the options they have. Here is an overview of three models of residential elevators that you can select from Cambridge Elevating.

The Elmira

The Elmira is a manual or automatic accordion cab gate with a swing landing door. This compact design can fit virtually any new or old home. Long ago, only wealthy homeowners owned home elevators. Fast forward to 2020, and homeowners with various budgets can afford residential elevators. The Elmira is economical with unique features such as:

  • Customized cab configurations and operational aids for those with special needs
  • Integrated safety locks that prevent the landing door from opening without the cab being present
  • Flexibility, the Elmira can fit even the smallest of floor plans

The Heritage

The Heritage is an automatic commercial-style cab door panels with a swing landing door. The Heritage’s door system allows for maximum flexibility. This elevator model provides two benefits. It has the convenience of a sliding door system on the elevator car, and automatic or manually-operated swing doors on the landings. Residential elevators, and this model, in particular, are easy to disguise and seamlessly integrate into any home. Initially, your guests may not even be able to tell it’s there. Some of the Heritage’s other unique features include:

  • Two-speed hydraulic valve for soft start and stop
  • Infrared Safety Light Curtain for Added Safety
  • Load Capacity up to 1,500 pounds

The Cambrian

This elevator model is luxurious. This selection serves as a showpiece for your home. This option is perfect for you if you have an elegant home and want your home’s elegance to reflect in your elevator design as well. Still, you don’t have to compromise functionality if you decide to choose the Cambrian. Here are a few of this elevator model’s many unique features:

  • One-touch entry and touch-free exit
  • Minimal noise operation using submersible pump motor
  • Unlimited cab and fixture finish options!
