COVID-19 Notice

Preferred Elevator would like to assure our customers that we are taking all necessary steps to do our part in flattening the curve of COVID-19. We have developed a “No Family Contact” process for service, repairs and installations. Our Mechanic, who will be wearing a mask and gloves, will call you when we are at your front door and will discuss the issues or concerns you have with your unit. Our customer can then unlock the door, but there is no need to further greet the Mechanic or be present for the service, repair or installation. Please feel free to move to another part of the home while we are working. Final payment can be left for technician or can be done over the phone with our office.
We greatly appreciate your business during this time.

Sincerely,
Ken Gough

URGENT SAFETY NOTICE

Elevators installed with more than 4 inches of “gap space” between the hoistway doors and the elevator car doors can pose a serious safety risk. Children may become entrapped in the space and could be seriously injured or killed. This risk can be reduced with the proper installation of space guards at each floor.

How To Choose A Stairlift For Your Home

Elan Stairlift

Take you time when choosing a stairlift.

You might have come to a point in your life where you can’t navigate in your home like you used to.  Whether it is age or a mobile disability that affects your movements, you should still be able to access your entire home, including stairs.  If you invest in a stairlift, you can travel up and down your stairs easily on a daily basis.  Choosing a stairlift is easier than you might think. Here are a few simple tips to help you find the right stairlift for you.

Physique

When it comes to choosing a stairlift for your home, you need to take yourself or the person using the stairlift into account.  You should choose a stairlift that is comfortable for you to sit in and accommodates your physique well. Your weight and height are important things to take into account when deciding on a stairlift.  It is always good to invest in a stairlift that has adjustable parts such as the arms of the chair.

Staircase Design

One of the most important factors when it comes to choosing a stairlift is the design of your staircase.  There are usually two types of staircases, straight or curved. You will need to choose a stairlift depending on the specific staircase you have.  Luckily, Preferred Elevator can install a stairlift on any type of staircase, regardless of the size.

Design Preference

You need to take your personal design preference into account when choosing your stairlift.  You may want to have a stairlift that looks aesthetically appealing while transporting you up and down your staircase. Preferred Elevator offers a few options in style, design, and colors when it comes to your stairlift.    You will never have to worry about your stairlift being an eyesore because it has a sleek design that blends in seamlessly with any home.
