COVID-19 Notice

Preferred Elevator would like to assure our customers that we are taking all necessary steps to do our part in flattening the curve of COVID-19. We have developed a “No Family Contact” process for service, repairs and installations. Our Mechanic, who will be wearing a mask and gloves, will call you when we are at your front door and will discuss the issues or concerns you have with your unit. Our customer can then unlock the door, but there is no need to further greet the Mechanic or be present for the service, repair or installation. Please feel free to move to another part of the home while we are working. Final payment can be left for technician or can be done over the phone with our office.
We greatly appreciate your business during this time.

Sincerely,
Ken Gough

URGENT SAFETY NOTICE

Elevators installed with more than 4 inches of “gap space” between the hoistway doors and the elevator car doors can pose a serious safety risk. Children may become entrapped in the space and could be seriously injured or killed. This risk can be reduced with the proper installation of space guards at each floor.

Why Get a Wheelchair Lift Installation From a Professional?

Why Get a Wheelchair Lift Installation From a Professional?

Here are all the reasons you should let a professional handle your wheelchair lift installation.

Wheelchair lifts offer huge benefits to people who choose to install them in their homes. When deciding to get one, there is a question that needs to be answered: do you hire a pro for the installation, or do you handle it yourself? While some people try to save money by performing DIY installations, it’s not what we would recommend for wheelchair lifts. There’s a much higher chance of mistakes being made during the installation, and this not only costs you money and time to fix those mistakes, but it can also be dangerous when the installation is done improperly. That’s why we advise you to hire a professional company to properly and safely install your lift. Here are all the reasons you should let a professional handle your wheelchair lift installation.

It Is More Cost-Effective

While we did just mention that DIY installations are done as a cost-saving measure, it’s usually more cost-effective to hire a pro to do the job for you. As we mentioned before, DIY installations tend to run into errors because it’s easier to make mistakes without experience installing wheelchair lifts yourself.

When you make mistakes during the wheelchair lift installation, you’ll have to hire a professional to come fix them anyway. This means you’ll likely need to hire professional help one way or another, so it’s better to hire a pro right away and avoid making the installation more complicated than needed.

Your Wheelchair Lift Will Require Less Maintenance

With a proper wheelchair lift installation, not only do you save money, but you’ll also have to perform less maintenance once the installation is done. This is because a properly-installed wheelchair lift is simply less likely to encounter problems that will require service. Since professionals are more experienced with these installations, they’ll be much more likely to get the installation done the right way.

A Professional Wheelchair Lift Installation is Safer

When a wheelchair lift installation is done by the professionals, they’ll follow all of the best practices to ensure a successful installation. This way, you’ll know your lift will be safe to use when you need it. Your safety is a top priority when using a wheelchair lift, and getting your lift installed professionally maximizes the safety that your lift will provide for you.
