COVID-19 Notice

Preferred Elevator would like to assure our customers that we are taking all necessary steps to do our part in flattening the curve of COVID-19. We have developed a “No Family Contact” process for service, repairs and installations. Our Mechanic, who will be wearing a mask and gloves, will call you when we are at your front door and will discuss the issues or concerns you have with your unit. Our customer can then unlock the door, but there is no need to further greet the Mechanic or be present for the service, repair or installation. Please feel free to move to another part of the home while we are working. Final payment can be left for technician or can be done over the phone with our office.
We greatly appreciate your business during this time.

Sincerely,
Ken Gough

URGENT SAFETY NOTICE

Elevators installed with more than 4 inches of “gap space” between the hoistway doors and the elevator car doors can pose a serious safety risk. Children may become entrapped in the space and could be seriously injured or killed. This risk can be reduced with the proper installation of space guards at each floor.

Preferred Elevator FAQ

We hope you find this FAQ helpful

Here at Preferred Elevator, our goal is to make the lives of our customers easier. We know that tough decisions come with changes in mobility, and that’s where our devices come in handy. With our home modification devices, we hope to give our customers back some of the freedom, independence, and mobility that they may have lost over the years. Purchasing any new product, let alone one that modifies your home, comes with many questions. We have answers! Today we’ll provide you with an FAQ that can answer some of the concerns you may have.

Are Home Modification Devices Affordable?

Absolutely. Long ago, only wealthy homeowners had residential elevators. However today, residential elevators are now affordable enough for the average homeowner. This affordability also applies to our stairlifts, wheelchair lifts, dumbwaiters, and material lifts. If you cannot afford a home modification device on your income alone, there are loans and grants available. Also, our manufacturers offer the option to finance your home modification device.

Are Home Modification Devices Safe?

Yes, our devices are safe! The National Elevator Industry Program (NEIEP) certified our mechanics and technicians. Every one of our Mechanics went through and successfully completed the proper elevator training. Also, in 2017, the American Society of Mechanic Engineers (ASME) mandated a new elevator installation code to ensure that residential elevators are safer than ever before! Limited mobility doesn’t affect only older people, it affects those at any age at any stage of life. Residential elevators or any of the other vertical platform lifts are safe for children,  elders and anyone in between.

Will Installation Take A Long Time?

The installation will not take forever. It will only take a few hours or a few days, depending on which type of unit we are installing. It all depends on factors such as the size of your home, staircase, and also how you want your new device customized. Not only is installation quick, but our lifts are user-friendly.

What If My Lift Stops Working?

One way to keep stairlifts, vertical platform lifts and elevators running as they should is to set up annual maintenance checkups. That way, we can detect any issues before it becomes a large repair. Otherwise, we do offer 24/7 emergency services with an Annual Service Agreement. We don’t anticipate you running into many problems, but if you do, we’re here for you. One of our main concerns is keeping you safe and satisfied for years to come. We hope that this FAQ was helpful. If we did not cover a pressing concern in this FAQ, then call us or refer to our blogs where we share other vital information.
