COVID-19 Notice

Preferred Elevator would like to assure our customers that we are taking all necessary steps to do our part in flattening the curve of COVID-19. We have developed a “No Family Contact” process for service, repairs and installations. Our Mechanic, who will be wearing a mask and gloves, will call you when we are at your front door and will discuss the issues or concerns you have with your unit. Our customer can then unlock the door, but there is no need to further greet the Mechanic or be present for the service, repair or installation. Please feel free to move to another part of the home while we are working. Final payment can be left for technician or can be done over the phone with our office.
We greatly appreciate your business during this time.

Sincerely,
Ken Gough

URGENT SAFETY NOTICE

Elevators installed with more than 4 inches of “gap space” between the hoistway doors and the elevator car doors can pose a serious safety risk. Children may become entrapped in the space and could be seriously injured or killed. This risk can be reduced with the proper installation of space guards at each floor.

Kinds of Dumbwaiters

Kinds of Dumbwaiters

Today, we’ll be reviewing two different types of dumbwaiters that you could install in your home.

Do you need a way to transport goods from one floor of your home to another? If so, dumbwaiters are a great option for you. Dumbwaiters allow you to transport items wherever you need them to go without straining yourself, which is much easier and safer than trying to lug things up your stairs. You’re also able to transport objects more quickly this way, adding to the convenience that these lifts provide for you.

When considering a dumbwaiter lift for your home, there are actually a few different types you could choose to install. Today, we’ll be reviewing two different types of dumbwaiters that you could install in your home.

Counter Height Dumbwaiter

Counter height dumbwaiter lifts are among the more popular lifts you could choose to get installed in your home. These lifts are built at counter height so that you can load items onto them without much hassle. You would normally use these types of lifts to transport lighter items between floors, so it’s important not to overload them with too much weight at one time.

Floor Height Dumbwaiter

Sometimes, you need to transport items that are a little more bulky. In this kind of situation, you should install a floor type dumbwaiter lift. As their name implies, they are built at floor level, and they are designed to help you move heavier objects. When you don’t feel comfortable hauling heavy objects up and down the stairs anymore, this could be the type of lift to consider.
