COVID-19 Notice

Preferred Elevator would like to assure our customers that we are taking all necessary steps to do our part in flattening the curve of COVID-19. We have developed a “No Family Contact” process for service, repairs and installations. Our Mechanic, who will be wearing a mask and gloves, will call you when we are at your front door and will discuss the issues or concerns you have with your unit. Our customer can then unlock the door, but there is no need to further greet the Mechanic or be present for the service, repair or installation. Please feel free to move to another part of the home while we are working. Final payment can be left for technician or can be done over the phone with our office.
We greatly appreciate your business during this time.

Sincerely,
Ken Gough

URGENT SAFETY NOTICE

Elevators installed with more than 4 inches of “gap space” between the hoistway doors and the elevator car doors can pose a serious safety risk. Children may become entrapped in the space and could be seriously injured or killed. This risk can be reduced with the proper installation of space guards at each floor.

The Most Important Reasons to Purchase a Wheelchair Lift

Consider how your home could be improved with a wheelchair lift.

Wheelchair lifts are essential pieces of mobility equipment that almost nobody thinks about until someone with a wheelchair needs access to your home or your business. Wheelchair lifts are the best way to smoothly and naturally allow those using a wheelchair to navigate uneven flooring or avoid a staircase. Wheelchair lifts are ideal for those living or working in a multi-level space so that mobility is no longer an issue. What are some of the most important reasons why you should purchase a wheelchair lift?

They Are Easiest to Use

While wheelchair ramps meet the technical requirements that your business needs to accommodate those in wheelchairs, and many people find wheelchair lifts much easier to use than other solutions. In some cases, paralyzed wheelchair users cannot use their arms to navigate the turns and twists of a ramp. However, a wheelchair lift can be easily operated by any wheelchair user or their caregiver.

It Offers Wheelchair Users Freedom

Whether or not you realize it, navigating the world in a wheelchair can be difficult and stressful. Wheelchair users have to constantly wonder if they will be able to enter businesses, get into offices, or get into homes without needing to ask for help. Installing a wheelchair lift at your home or business means offering a sense of independence and freedom to anyone using a wheelchair and visiting your establishment. Wheelchair lifts can also offer additional freedom when they are installed into company vans or personal vehicles, as getting in and out of the car will be easier than ever before.

It’s Smart Business

If you are a business owner, installing a wheelchair lift is a smart business decision, as any prospective clients or employees with mobility issues will be able to easily get in and out of your office. Anyone who uses a wheelchair will notice your effort to accommodate them and appreciate your practical gesture.

You Improve Your Home’s Value

With baby boomers, a large chunk of the real estate market, getting older every year, homes that already have a wheelchair lift installed are being sold for higher prices. Everything from steep slopes to uneven floor levels can be corrected with a wheelchair lift, and buyers will notice the care you put into making your home appropriate for those with mobility issues. If you would benefit from a wheelchair lift, don’t hesitate to install one, as the next owner of your home may benefit from it as well!
