COVID-19 Notice

Preferred Elevator would like to assure our customers that we are taking all necessary steps to do our part in flattening the curve of COVID-19. We have developed a “No Family Contact” process for service, repairs and installations. Our Mechanic, who will be wearing a mask and gloves, will call you when we are at your front door and will discuss the issues or concerns you have with your unit. Our customer can then unlock the door, but there is no need to further greet the Mechanic or be present for the service, repair or installation. Please feel free to move to another part of the home while we are working. Final payment can be left for technician or can be done over the phone with our office.
We greatly appreciate your business during this time.

Sincerely,
Ken Gough

URGENT SAFETY NOTICE

Elevators installed with more than 4 inches of “gap space” between the hoistway doors and the elevator car doors can pose a serious safety risk. Children may become entrapped in the space and could be seriously injured or killed. This risk can be reduced with the proper installation of space guards at each floor.

4 Practical Reasons to Invest in a Home Elevator

Home Elevator

A home elevator can have a variety of great benefits!

Once upon a time, an in-home elevator was something you’d only see on television about how the rich and famous live. As the cost of materials and technology has decreased, home elevators have become a resource that’s accessible to more and more people. Here are some great reasons to consider adding a home elevator to your residence.

Mobility and Convenience

Elevators aren’t just helping people who need mobility assistance, though they certainly are ideal for that. If you currently have your laundry area in the basement, imagine how much easier it would be to get that dirty laundry all the way down, and the clean laundry back up to the second floor if you had an elevator instead of multiple flights of stairs. Or if you wanted to add new furniture, which can be bulky or heavy,  to the second-floor living areas; an elevator would make that much easier than taking it up a flight of stairs.

Safety and Security

A home elevator can mean a safer home. For older people and children alike, stairs can be dangerous to maneuver, and a safe and easy to use elevator is a great alternative. A home elevator can also be incorporated into your larger home security system. You could be able to limit access and use of the elevator to restrict access to some parts of the house.

Style and Efficiency

Even though they are no longer as expensive as they once were, elevators are still viewed as a luxury item. If you’re looking for a really unique item to add to your home, an elevator would be it! Home elevators are available in numerous styles to fit any home aesthetic, from classic elegance to modern chic. They also often take up less room than traditional stairs, since they can be tucked into unused space or even added as an addition on the outside of the structure.

Increased Property Value

While most people only think about how they might need or use an elevator in their own life, it can also be a good investment even if you don’t need it yourself at the current time. This is because a home elevator increases your property value and may make it easier to find a buyer when you do decide to sell. Home buyers, more and more, are looking for homes designed with “aging in place” in mind. A home elevator makes your home a better option for folks who may think they’re limited to a rancher for a home that will still suite them when they’re older.
